Aveeno's Ultra Calming Skincare Line

Updated: Jan 10, 2023

As I've recently shared on an Instagram post, I've been having problems with my skin for the last 3 years of my life. It started in Switzerland, then followed me through Hong Kong, and now that I'm back in California it is still a huge problem that just won't go away.

I've seen three dermatologists and they've all said it's clogged pores due to wearing makeup. Except I've gone makeup free for several weeks, even months, and #neverbetter. I've switched up my makeup, skincare, diet, and birth control to monitor how my skin reacts to it. Then I thought, maybe it's an allergy? Who knows?? I can say that there are days where it's more visible than others, however, I tried Aveeno's Ultra Calming Skincare Line, which is fragrance-free and soothing for sensitive skin, which I've always had. Here is what I liked and what I wasn't too crazy about.

The Nourishing Night Cream is EVERYTHING. I love it's thick texture and how it applies easily and lathers evenly throughout. It leaves my skin looking radiant and smooth all the way until the morning. I sometimes don't even want to wash my face when I wake up because it looks and feels so soft.

This Absolutely Ageless eye cream is my second favorite! As I'm entering my 30's this year, I've been extra paranoid lately when seeing wrinkles around my eyes, which I never had before. I apply a tiny little bit onto my middle fingers and lightly pat onto my under eyes. I use it for day and night time.

The other items I tried were the Hydrating Gel Cleanser, the Makeup Removing Wipes, and the Daily Moisturizer.

The gel cleanser and makeup wipes were good but I didn't feel a significant difference to other fragrance-free cleansers and wipes.

I wasn't a big fan of the daily moisturizer. For my skin type which is dry and sensitive, it felt too thick and not hydrating enough that it was difficult to apply evenly. I always had a little extra white residue somewhere on my eyebrows or nose due to the thickness from the SPF it has. It felt very similar to applying sunblock lotion on my face without the oily feel. This moisturizer may be a better fit for anyone with sensitive oily skin, not sensitive dry skin.

I used the complete line for a full month and my opinion is based on my personal experience with it. I will definitely keep purchasing the night cream. I loved it! Feel free to share your own personal opinion in the comments below on any of these you've tried.

xx,
