A few weeks ago after a couple hair appointments in the morning and a long afternoon working out of my home office, I went out for a couple of drinks with friends at a local bar and was a little unsure on how to dress down my #allblackeverything outfit to be casual and relaxed.
Being a minimalist, as I have been practicing to be, means I don't have many pieces in my wardrobe that aren't black or for work use, whether it's business casual, business chic, or business formal. I recently did get a hold of a cute and comfortable denim jacket from #kutfromthekloth and was the absolute most perfect solution to my "casual dilemma".
I now throw it on when I know I want to look casual yet hip. If it's a little too warm, then i just tie it around my waist so I don't get rid of the denim aspect.
I'm VERY particular about the way clothes fit me. Any piece of clothing I own MUST spark joy (yes, I've read and follow the philosophy of The Life Changing Magic of Tyding Up). This denim jacket is such a staple in my closet now! The best part is that I can be wearing some strappy heels, comfortable flats or wedges and still look relaxed in this cool kloth.
